Layout of written materials is a particular strength, due to my previous experience in technical writing. I design the covers and interior layouts of special reports, white papers, and ebooks (most of which remain as electronic PDFs), and for which I've created thumbnail images for advertising purposes. I've also designed printed and published catalogs and books.
This project involved the editing and layout of a 2-part series of white papers/reports (24 pages and 18 pages) for an international client, including coordinated cover designs. The reports were premiums offered in the client’s promotional sales letter and on his website; interior graphics included a series of analytical charts. He also wrote a 45-page e-book for which a thumbnail graphic facsimile (shown) was created to look like a 3D book, for his website.
The design, editing and layout of a 16-page white paper “Special Report” titled “5 Ways to Increase Lead Generation” by a high-tech B2B copywriter, including cover design, was created as a premium offer on her website. A 3D graphic view of the white paper was created for advertising purposes on this client’s website, as well as finalization of her website's header graphic.
Cover design and interior layout for a book of poetry and prose, written by residents of Homeward Bound (a Minnesota-based non-profit organization providing care services for adults and children with disabilities) in partnership with The Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis and the Hennepin County Library system (copies distributed city-wide). Contributing authors were photographed in silhouette and the images used both on the cover and opposite the story or poem they authored.
Cover design and interior layout for an e-Book, A Very Little Cancer, by Mary Gardner (available as a Kindle download at Amazon.com). I also created a version available from CreateSpace, and the first pages of that “Print-on-Demand” version are pictured here. The front cover image was provided by the author and integrated into the front-and-back cover design, including barcode and ISBN. This project also included the creation of a web page for the book, and a promotional e-mail campaign.
